Information for students of Kosovo citizenship about the programme of scholarships in the Czech Republic The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kosovo has the pleasure to announce that there will be 4 scholarships (3 scholarships for follow-up master and 1 for doctoral study programmes in English) for Kosovo students available for the next academic year 2011/2012. It invites applications from all interested students in follow-up master studies and doctoral studies in following subjects: - Economy,
- Informatics,
- Agriculture,
- Forestry

No other specializations are available. Please, note that all these subjects are available as follow-up master studies and doctoral studies i.e. they are available only for students who already reached bachelor degree, respectively MA degree, or equivalent level of education. Any copies of the documents must be legally verified and/or translated. In case any documentation will be missing, the application will be disregarded! Deadline for submission of application forms and documentation to the Czech Embassy is Friday December 10, 2010 until 14:00. All the applicants whose application forms will be considered as acceptable will be invited to the test from English language. The test will take place at the premises of the Embassy of the Czech Republic on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 10:00. The names of students who will be granted scholarship in the Czech Republic will be announced in June 2010. After the scholarship will be granted, it won’t be possible to change subject, school or change the name of the awarded student.
Kosova Academic Services works with The Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education - Economics Institute in the Czech Republic. CERGE offers the program of doctoral studies in theoretical and applied economics, leading to a PhD degree which is fully accredited in the United States and in the Czech Republic. The PhD program consists of two years of coursework followed by two years of supervised dissertation research. The working language of the institution is English. CERGE-EI encourages its students to conduct part of their dissertation research at partner institutions in Western Europe and North America, as well as to participate in collaborative research projects in other countries. Most students are granted tuition waivers and stipends for up to four years of study - no separate application is necessary. Successful applicants will be invited to participate in a competitive two-month Preparatory semester in July and August, after which final admissions decisions will be made. Students can ask for travel expenses coverage. The request for such grant should be attached to the application form and should free-format clearly explain why such grant is needed. Additional admissions to the Ph.D. program are available for students who are awarded with the Czech Government Scholarship. Holders of this scholarship are also eligible for somewhat higher financial support. In 2009/2010 the Czech Government Scholarships are available for citizens of Kosovë as well. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. A separate application to the Czech embassy in your country is necessary. Attention! The deadline for the Czech Government Scholarship is around December 12! (The exact date varies by the country of residence; please inquire with the Czech embassy.)
